Termite Control: What You Need to Know

January 15, 2014  ·  New River Pest Control, LLC

Eastern Subterranean Termites

The Eastern Subterranean Termite is the most common and destructive termite species in Virginia. These termites live in underground colonies and travel through mud tubes to reach wood sources above ground. Because they work hidden inside walls, floors, and structural beams, infestations often go undetected until significant damage has already occurred.

Signs of termite activity include mud tubes on foundation walls or crawl space piers, hollow-sounding wood, discarded wings near windows or doors, and soft or damaged wood with a honeycomb interior.

Post-Construction Treatments

We offer residential post-construction treatments for active termite colonies. Treatment costs are calculated by linear and square footage and vary by property. Call for a no-obligation estimate specific to your home.

Preventative Treatments

If you have not had a termite infestation but want to protect your home, preventative treatments create a protective barrier around your structure. This is particularly recommended for older homes, homes with crawl spaces, or properties in wooded areas.

Real Estate Inspections

We provide Wood Destroying Insect and Organism (WDI/WDO) inspections for properties under contract to be sold. These inspections are commonly required by lenders and identify evidence of current or past termite activity, other wood-destroying insects, and fungal damage.

Pricing is based on linear and square footage and varies by property size and treatment method. Call us to schedule a thorough inspection and receive a no-obligation estimate.
